This article will give you a basic outline of how to setup an email account on your Android device. Because each version/carrier is slightly different, the steps below may not be 100% accurate for your device. • 1) Open the email application.
  
• 2) Enter your email address and password, then tap manual setup.
  
• 3) Select IMAP
  
• 4) Make sure that your username is the full email address
• 5) Enter the IMAP server (eg mail.example.com) and port
• 6) Tap Next
  
• 7) Make sure that the SMTP server is the same as your IMAP server
• 8) Enter 25 as the port (unless you are using SSL – 465 for SSL)
• 9) Make sure require sign-in is selected
• 10) Double check your username and make sure that it’s your full email address
• 11) Tap next
  
• 12) Select the preferences you wish to use, then tap next.
  
• 13) Enter the name you wish people to see when you send emails, then tap next.
  

This tutorial will show you how to setup an IMAP email account on your iPhone.

1) First, locate and press the “Settings” icon. It may be on a different screen or in a different location than shown here.

2) Then select “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”.

3) Select “Add Account”.

4) Then choose “Other”.

5) Press “Add Mail Account”.

6) Enter the Name, Email address, and Email password of the email account you’re adding.

7) A “Description” will automatically appear, but you can change it if you like. When finished, press “Next”.

8) In this tutorial we are creating an IMAP account… therefore, ensure the IMAP option is selected here.

9) Next you have to enter your Incoming Mail Server settings. Enter the Host Name (which can be found in your welcome email or under “Server Status” in your SiteAdmin panel), User Name and Password for the Incoming Mail Server.

We highly recommend that you use the server host-name for the incoming mail server. By default, iOS attempts to use SSL first, and not using the server host-name could cause a certificate error. You can find the server host-name in your Site5 welcome email.

10) Next, enter the Host Name, User Name and Password for the “Outgoing” Mail Server.

11) When finished, press “Next”.

12) Then press “Save”.

Success! The IMAP email account has been setup on the iPhone, and you can see it here listed under “Accounts”.

13) Let’s return to the home screen by pressing the Home button on the iPhone.

14) To check your email, press the “Mail” icon here (Note: the icon may be in a different location on your iPhone).

15) If you have multiple email accounts setup in your iPhone, they’ll all be listed here. Select the email account we just setup…

16) … and any emails in your inbox will be displayed here. Click an email header to see the email.

That’s it! You now know how to setup an IMAP e-mail account on your iPhone.

This tutorial assumes you’ve already created your new email account in SiteAdmin or cPanel.

Now let’s learn how to setup that new email account in Outlook 2010, so you’ll be able to send and receive emails to and from that new email account.

1) Open Outlook

2) Click File

3) Click the Account Settings button

4) Select the Account Settings button from the drop-down

5) Click New

6) Click Manually configure server settings or additional server types, then click next
 

7) Click Internet E-mail, then click Next

8) Enter your name

9) Enter your email address

10) Select the account type you wish to use. We will be using IMAP for this demo.

11) Enter the incoming and outgoing mail servers. On a typical setup, this is mail.example.com where example.com would be replaced with your actual domain name.

12) Enter your email address into the User Name field

13) Enter your password

14) Click More Settings

15) Click the Outgoing Server tab

16) Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, then click OK

17) Click Finish
